Who is a World Class Poker Player?

Unfortunately. not me. :(

So I played in a poker tournament over in Cocoa Beach this weekend and it was a blast. This was my first ever tournament, and I think I did pretty well. The way it works is there are tons of qualifying games that anyone can play in over several months. The more of these you win, the more chips you start with. Your first win gets you $10,000 in chips, and each additional win gets you another $1000 in chips. I only had one win so I started with the lowest amount you could have. There are three nights of preliminaries, Thursday, Friday and Saturday with the final on Sunday. About 300 people play on each preliminary night. The final is composed of the top 30 or so from each preliminary night. I played on Friday night. It started at 6:00pm and went until 11:00pm. The table I started at there was a guy that had $124,000 in chips! I thought I didn't have a chance. I was wrong. After five hours of poker, I ended the night with $95,000 in chips, and made the cut for Sunday. Sunday we started at 11:00am with about 110 people. The chip leader on Sunday had $504,000 in chips and the short stack had $3000 so I was somewhere in the middle. I did okay for about half an hour or so, but then got knocked out. I went all in with pocket nines and got beat on the flop with a pair of jacks. I played well though and I plan on playing more often.
More details on everything else that's been going on to follow. Hope all is well with everyone. Peas out!
